Services / Iron Recertification
In a high-pressure environment, your iron is only as good as its last certification. Our shop crew uses a rigorous, data-driven process to ensure your flowback, frac, and mono-line assets are 100% field-ready.
Iron Recertification
We take every piece of iron through a disciplined workflow to ensure nothing is missed. From initial inspection and cleaning to final hydrostatic testing, every step is performed with traceability and documentation in mind.
Our process is built to recover, rebuild, inspect, and test iron the right way. If it doesn't pass our test, it doesn't touch your pad.
What We Work On
Our shop handles a wide range of high-pressure iron and related components used in demanding oilfield environments.
Flowback & Frac
We work on flowback and frac iron in 2-inch, 3-inch, and 4-inch sizes, inspecting and testing each asset through a disciplined recertification process.
Large Bore Equipment
Mono-lines and large bore equipment are processed through our shop workflow with inspection, cleaning, evaluation, and final pressure testing.
Valves
We perform complete teardowns, seal replacement, greasing, and rebuild work on plug valves, check valves, and relief valves to restore dependable mechanical performance.
Joints
Swivel joints and pup joints are inspected, evaluated, and tested to confirm they are ready to return to service.
Manifolds
We inspect and test manifolds and crosses used in high-pressure service, ensuring they meet shop standards before leaving our facility.
4-Step Certification Process
Every asset is taken through a disciplined process to ensure nothing is missed.
Step One
Every asset is logged by serial number and thoroughly cleaned to remove grease, scale, and debris. We perform an initial visual inspection to identify obvious fatigue or damage before moving to the bench.
Step Two
Precision is non-negotiable. Our certified inspectors begin with a thorough Visual Inspection (VI) before performing Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to find surface and sub-surface cracks, and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to measure wall thickness and ensure the iron meets safety tolerances.
Step Three
We perform complete teardowns of plug valves and check valves, replacing all seals, greasing components, and ensuring the mechanical action is as smooth as the day it was manufactured.
Step Four
The final exam. We test your iron in specialized bunkers up to 22,500 PSI. Every test is monitored and recorded, generating a digital chart and a Certificate of Conformance (CoC) for your records.
Why Operators Trust Our Shop
Our shop process is designed to catch what others miss. From the initial cleaning and visual inspection to final hydrostatic testing, every passed asset leaves with documentation, traceability, and a digital paper trail for your records.
Why Choose Volant Xpress
We know how much is riding on every certified asset. Our process is built around careful evaluation, dependable rebuild work, and documented testing before anything goes back into service.
